_410_1237394651484The annual .410 World Championships, which attracts people from around the world to compete with the smallest calibre shotgun available, will be held in Wales on the 21st September 2013.

The clay-shooting competition, organised by the UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and sponsored by Eley Hawk Ltd, will take place at the Mid-Wales Shooting Centre near Caersws in Powys.

Competitors can enter the open, ladies or junior class for under-18s. The first place winners of each class will receive 500 .410 Eley Hawk cartridges and a trophy. Second and third place winners will each receive 250 .410 Eley Hawk cartridges.

The overall high gun will win a Yildiz over-and-under .410 shotgun donated by Entwistle Guns of Preston

Meurig Rees director of BASC Wales said: “The annual BASC .410 World Championship is a popular event which showcases an excellent standard of shooting. It attracts entrants from all over the world which makes it a really exciting and challenging experience and I look forward to welcoming this year’s competitors.”

The competition will start at 10am with last entries at 2pm. Participants who do not own a .410 will be able to borrow one on the day.
