Almost 40 BASC Young Shot members from across the south of England enjoyed an exciting activity day in Berkshire last Wednesday (24 May).
The event gave youngsters the opportunity to try clay shooting and air rifles as well as watching gundog demonstrations, a trapping talk, deer management demonstration and a falconry display from Ray Prior falconry.
The event was kindly hosted by Rick Kipling of Riverswood Sporting and the Yattendon Estate and was supported by BASC council member Mike Robinson who cooked up some delicious venison on the barbeque for the Young Shots to try.
BASC SE regional officer, Jenni Thompson, said: “Despite a wet start to the day the Young Shots really put their hearts into the event enjoying everything on offer to the full. It was a fascinating day at which they all learnt a lot about the countryside, skills and management techniques whilst having a great amount of fun into the bargain.”
