Josh and Molly in actionGundogs will compete in the BASC & Chudleys Scurry League at this year’s CLA Game Fair. Scurries including the Long Retrieve, BASC Obstacle and BASC Around the Clock will be hosted in the Gundog Scurry area at the fair, which will be held at Blenheim Palace from 18th – 20th July.

A number of venues including the CLA have been selected to host this year’s scurry league events which will each feature a number of different individual scurries. As well prizes on the day winners of individual scurries will gain points towards the league table and at the end of the summer the top dogs and handlers will compete in a grand final.

Glynn Evans, BASC’s head of game and deer management, said: “The scurries are fun and fair and open to all gundog breeds and recognised crosses of those breeds. With only three more qualifying events to go, competition to gain points and secure a place in the grand final will be increasing.”

The top 20 dogs will compete in the grand final to be held at the Midland Game Fair in September.

All finalists will get a specially commissioned stick by Bob Jones (Stick & Whistle maker) and commemorative clothing from Bushwear.

The prizes are as follows:

1st Prize – BASC Chudleys Scurry League champion 2014 – BASC Chudleys scurry league trophy and a trophy to keep, Lintran dog box http://www.lintran.co.uk/ , Tuffies dog bed and cover http://www.tuffies.co.uk/ , Gundog training equipment and one year’s supply of Chudleys Dog food.

2nd Prize: Trophy to keep, Gundog training equipment, Tuffies dog bed and cover, six months’ supply Chudleys dog food.

3rd Prize: Trophy to keep,Gundog training equipment, Tuffies dog bed and cover, four months’ supply Chudleys dog food.

4th Prize: Trophy to keep, Gundog training equipment, Tuffies dog bed and cover, three months’ supply of Chudleys dog food.
