There are two police firearms liaison group meetings taking place in the next three weeks, these are with Essex and Cambridge.
In addition, Suffolk Police has been in touch with regard to the theft of firearms, particularly from vehicles on shoot days, since there have already been at least three instances within the county where shotguns have been stolen when left unattended in vehicles.
Organised shoots are asked to consider their arrangements for security of firearms during lunchbreaks etc. and to ensure that firearms are never left insecure and unattended.
Plenty of advice is available on the BASC website in the Firearms Security Handbook 2005 at Part 7, paragraphs 1-8
