Gamekeepers from the south west will be competing for a place in the final of a national clay shooting competition.

The south west qualifier is being held at the Podimore shooting ground near Yeovil on Sunday 30 March ahead of the national BASC gamekeepers clay shoot final at the BASC Gamekeepers Fair, Catton Park in Derbyshire.

BASC’s regional director for the south west, Jamie Stewart, said: “I am delighted that Paul Bennett and the team at Podimore have offered South West gamekeepers this opportunity and that Gaymer cider have chosen to sponsor this event with prizes for the winner and two runners up. Competition can be fierce in the national final and winning is something to be proud of. I will be attending the qualifier at Podimore and will be more than happy to talk to members and guests throughout the day”.

It is a 50-bird sporting individual event which starts at 10.30am with last entries at 2pm and prize giving at 3pm. It costs £18 to enter and cartridges are available on site. Refreshments are available all day.
