The BASC training and education team want to encourage people at all levels to develop their skills so that they can enjoy their sport across all shooting disciplines.
“I have just got back from a shoot where I had 50 clays from different stands and hit 75 per cent of them – my highest score to date by far. Because of this I would recommend anyone who is starting out – or who is unable to increase their hit rate – to go for proper coaching. Like me, I am sure you will see your scores improve. So thanks to coach Mike and thanks BASC.”
“I just wanted to write in relation to my recent experience
at the 2023 Game Fair at Ragley Hall, during which I attended the BASC stand on
the shooting line.I can only say that I was blown away by the professionalism,
attitudes, helpfulness and general demeanour of all involved representing the
BASC.I wanted to get some assistance/instruction relating to a
particular type of target I was struggling with, however I was worried that
with the limited space available there might not be any traps that could
simulate the target type I needed to work on. To my surprise there was in fact
a reasonably close simulation available and the instructor I was paired with was quick to assist. I can honestly say that the
£15 I spent for that time was the best money I spent over the entire
weekend. The coach’s instruction was fabulous. He listened carefully to determine my
problem, explained clearly how it should be rectified, and more importantly the
cause(s) of my issue to prevent future reoccurrence. He got me shooting
straight within the space of just a few shots! The entire experience from
booking through to completion was fantastic and I really cannot thank BASC enough for the excellent and highly professional instruction during our time
together. I would also add that at just £15 (as a member) it was outstanding
value for such a highly tailored coaching session with an instructor of this quality. After having “checked in” and whilst waiting for my
instructor, I observed a great number of fellow attendees either exiting their
session or being collected to begin; Young & old, experienced & novice,
male & female – such a diverse group but all with one thing in common –
massive smiles on their faces. Especially the youngsters exiting after
(possibly) their first shooting experience. As a family man myself, and an avid
field sports enthusiast my entire life; it is delightful to see the efforts of
the BASC ambassadors at events such as this, putting such passion into ensuring
the future our sport.”“My daughter had a clay pigeon lesson at The Welsh Game Fair and I just wanted to pass on my gratitude and praise both for the excellent initiative and support for new shooters and young people, the individual involved is an absolute credit to you and the sport. (I have just completed a BASC membership for my daughter).
Well done and keep up the good work!”

Just wanted to drop you a quick email to provide some feedback having completed my DSC1 over the weekend. The course was run extremely well. I was really impressed with the training facilities, and I found the course to be really informative and well structured. There were some challenging characters but the trainer did a great job of keeping them on track and covering the content required. This was my first BASC course and I was very impressed.
