Sophie Hutchinson (510x800) (002)BASC has appointed former parliamentary researcher Sophie Hutchinson as its new political affairs officer.

Sophie, originally from North Shropshire, enjoys shooting and beating while her passion for conservation took her to Kenya for a six month attachment on a conservancy in the Maasai Mara.

Sophie, who also worked for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, said: “I’m thrilled to join BASC’s staff. The conservation work we do across Britain and abroad is massively important, and I’m excited to be able to help the association move forward with its objectives.”

Christopher Graffius, who is responsible for the association’s political department, said: “I am delighted to welcome Sophie to the BASC team and look forward to working with her to represent shooting and conservation in Westminster and Whitehall.

“BASC’s political work is at the heart of the association’s mission and is a key factor in ensuring that shooting prospers.”
