A booklet featuring recipes created by winners of a game meat competition has been published by Taste of Game and the Food Teachers Centre.

Students from across the UK had a chance to develop their own game recipes as part of the Schools Game Changer Project. The challenge set by the organisers was to create a quick and easy game meat recipe with a modern twist.

The booklet features recipes created by the top 18 winners including crispy duck with sticky peaches, venison and pomegranate biryani, honeyed pheasant salad and pigeon samosas and mango chutney.

It can be found here.

Annette Woolcock, head of Taste of Game, said: “These recipes were so fantastic, it is only right that we collate and share them so that people have a chance to replicate them and savour the fabulous flavours at home.

“This booklet provides inspiration for an array of game meat and the mouth-watering recipes put together by these wonderful students are well worth trying.”

More than 14,ooo pupils across the UK have been introduced to game meat by the Schools Game Changer Project since 2018. The project has trained more than 100 teachers and delivered more than 10,000 pheasants to students.  It was recently extended to also cover colleges.
