We received this image from Steve, a shoot captain at the Southwick Estate in Hampshire. Steve said it was sad to see very little engagement in the sport from young people in the area. He rarely saw youngsters participate in beating, picking up or shooting.

One Saturday, he noticed Liam, who didn’t stop smiling all day, in the beating line. It was obvious to Steve that Liam had a lot of fun. This made Steve really happy, so he kept an eye on the lad.

After the final drive of the day, Steve saw him again, heading for the pickers-up, where he helped them gather up the quarry. After that, he headed back to the game trailer, Steve took this picture. The smile on this lad’s face says it all!
