Over £5,000 has been raised for BASC Young Shots thanks to the Lindisfarne sealed bid auction.
The auction lot, coordinated by the BASC wildfowling team, the Newcastle Wildfowlers Association (NWA) and their president Sir Johnny Scott, is an annual event that offers the lucky winner a chance to take part in three days of guided wildfowling over pristine habitat. Guided by members of the NWA the experience for two guns includes full board accommodation.
There were multiple bids for this exceptional experience, but the highest of £5150 went to a father and son pair from Dorset.
BASC wildfowling officer Shane Robinson said: “The three days on Lindisfarne did not disappoint. The guests had plenty of shooting and left with a lifetime of memories from this one-off opportunity. Thank you to all who submitted bids and don’t forget to look out for next year’s instalment of this fantastic auction lot.”
Sir Johnny Scott said: “I am once again delighted to help raise funds for the BASC Young Shots programme and give such a fantastic opportunity to the winning bidder. We are nothing without our next generation, especially when it comes to the skills and knowledge of wildfowling. BASC Young Shots is a fantastic initiative and one that should be supported by all that shoot.”
