The Home Office have today (10th December) released details on the surrender and compensation scheme which will impact the estimated 600 owners of MARS and Lever Release action rifles.
Those in possession of a MARS and/or Lever Release action rifle have until 9th March 2021 to apply for compensation and organise handing over the rifle. Failure to do so will leave those owners in illegal possession and unable to claim compensation.
The scheme is part of the Offensive Weapons Act that passed through Parliament last year.
