BASC launches Welsh manifesto

welsh-manifesto

BASC has today launched its Welsh Manifesto for Sustainable Shooting Sports, prior to the elections on 6 May.

The manifesto will play a key part in BASC’s representation to political parties and prospective candidates in the run up to the elections.

The Welsh manifesto seeks to ensure all parliamentarians from all parties recognise the value of shooting.  It also stresses the importance of shooting to rural economies and livelihoods in Wales.

The manifesto sets out BASC’s position on key issues and explains our workload in parliament following next month’s elections.

Over the coming month, BASC will be holding rural hustings and individual meetings with prospective candidates to ensure our members’ voices are heard.

Welsh manifesto key points

The Welsh manifesto sets out four key policy proposals:

  1. Sustainable sporting shooting for Wales – health and wellbeing
  2. Protecting sustainable sporting shooting and its role in Wales’ rural economy
  3. Sustainable moorland/peatland management
  4. Species conservation management
