Nominations for the 2021 Eat Game Awards have opened following the official unveiling of BASC’s new Eat Game initiative.
The Eat Game Awards will embark on a national search to find those businesses and individuals championing the use of British wild game.
The Eat Game initiative replaces BASC’s highly successful Taste of Game brand that has successfully promoted wild game for 10 years. Aligning with the fourth year of the Eat Game Awards the new initiative will focus on BASC’s commitment to promoting wild game to the public.
Launching the Eat Game initiative and the Awards at a wild game dinner at Westminster Kingsway College, Annette Woolcock, BASC’s head of wild food, said: “We are delighted to launch the Eat Game Awards to recognise those businesses who are doing an outstanding job in the game meat industry. We have some new categories this year, with best educator and best media storm or influencer I would encourage everyone to nominate their favourites.
On the new Eat Game initiative, Annette said: “Research has shown that game meat has a very strong potential market in the 20-45 year old and the new initiative is designed to appeal directly to this market.
“The new eat game brand is fresh and all about sharing with friends and having fun whilst eating sustainable and healthy meat. The website will have exciting new recipes along with some classics.”

In its fourth year, the Eat Game Awards is a celebration of those businesses going the extra mile with wild game. With eight categories the awards are on the hunt to find the heroes of British game, including farmers’ markets stalls, restaurants, butchers and local producers.
