BASC’s chairman has today told The Times that bad practice such as dumping pheasants  ‘drives a coach and horses through the credibility of shooting’.

In a letter to the newspaper, Peter Glenser QC has responded to coverage of film footage published by the newspaper which shows breasted pheasants being tipped into a pit.

Mr Glenser says: “The shooting community’s response to the awful footage must be unequivocal.

The perpetrator may have used a mechanical digger but such bad practice drives a coach and horses through the credibility of shooting.”

Mr Glenser also explains that BASC has reported the shoot to the local authority and the British Game Alliance.
