BASC is supporting a campaign to encourage a reduction of antibiotic use in gamebirds.

The latest figures showed that in the two years since the gamebird sector rolled out its voluntary campaign to reduce antibiotics, overall use has fallen by 51 per cent, with antibiotics incorporated in gamebird feed slashed by 70%.

Glynn Evans, BASC’s head of game and gun dogs, said: “The results so far are encouraging and due to the sector working together. It is important we maintain the momentum.”
