BASC has issued guidance on its website to make its members aware of the new Scottish knife dealers licensing scheme.
For existing sellers, licence applications may be made from the 1st September 2009 but must be submitted no later than the 2nd December 2009 in order for them to be processed before the legislation takes effect on the 1st June 2010. A licence is not required for private sales between individuals.
