Thousands of people are expected to celebrate BASC’s centenary by coming along to the BASC Scotland Country Fair when it returns to Cardross Estate, Port of Menteith in Stirlingshire on 10-11 May.
With a fully updated programme of events including falconry, the “Frilly Ghillie” who’ll be demonstrating the use of highland ponies in deer stalking, Siberian husky racing and old favourites like Chris Green – the ultimate countryman, and ferret and lurcher racing, there’s sure to be an event for you.
Donald Muir, BASC Scotland’s events and training officer, said: “We want there to be as many opportunities for people to get involved as possible. The clay shoot has been expanded with trophies for best BASC member in the following categories: ladies, juniors, gamekeepers and top BASC member overall. We have opportunities to try clay shooting and airgunning and the more experienced could enter the dog and gun competition or one of our gundog events.”
The fair is situated just south of Lake of Menteith and is signposted from all major routes. Tickets are just £8 with car parking, programme and accompanied under 16s free.
