Three shoots in Cheshire, who are members of BASC’s Green Shoots project, have received a £9,700 grant to plant new woodland.
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation’s Green Shoots project officer in Cheshire, Ben Gregory, helped the shoots apply for project funding for the habitat improvement work through the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund:

The bid was put together with the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) and Cheshire County Council with Defra awarding £46,765 in total to spend on the ground (£9,700 to BASC Green Shoots members).
BASC’s Ben Gregory said: “The money has been used to plant up 3.9 acres of broadleaf woodland which will not only provide valuable cover for the shoots but will also benefit a wide variety of other important species.”
