The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) has welcomed the appointment of Tim Bonner, the current Director of Campaigns, as Chief Executive of the Countryside Alliance.

BASC will have a major presence at this year’s CLA Game Fair, which will be held at Harewood House, Leeds, from 31st July– 2nd August.
The association will have a stand on Gun Makers’ Row, where expert staff will be on hand for the duration of the event. Sections of the stand will focus on firearms, conservation, gamekeeping, research, training and standards and wildfowling. There will also be a deer management section, which will provide a trophy measuring service.
This week BASC members are being invited to an open day in Wales about how mink and grey squirrel control can benefit conservation.
BASC has welcomed the production of a notebook to help the public record suspected poaching or coursing incidents.
The notebook has been released by the PAW Scotland Poaching and Coursing Priority Group and allows people to record as much accurate and detailed information as possible to pass on to the police. It is designed to fit in a glovebox or pocket and guides the user on the type of information which should be recorded.
