Young people are being offered the chance to take part in an activity day in County Antrim on the 27th April 2013, organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC). 

BASC NI will offer the opportunity to try supervised .22 rifle target shooting, learn quarry identification and find out more about the work of BASC’s Green Shoots programme. The Glens Red Squirrel Group will highlight the effects that grey squirrels have on the native red squirrel population, how to set humane traps for grey squirrels and look after feeders for reds.

The event will be held at North Antrim Rifle & Pistol Club, Dervock, Co. Antrim and is sponsored by Smyth’s Country Sports and Outdoor and Country Sports, Coleraine,

Places are limited and advanced booking is essential. The day will run from 9:30am and costs £30 for BASC members and £35 for non-members. Completed booking forms must be returned by 19 April 2013 and late bookings cannot be accepted.
