BASC is advising its members today that a revised version of the document ‘Bird Flu and Gamebirds’ has been published by government and countryside and shooting organisations.

The document reflects new regulations on avian influenza which came into force on 28 February 2017 in England, Wales and Scotland. New regulations will be put in place in Northern Ireland on 17 March 2017.

This latest advice replaces a similar document issued on 13 January 2017.

Glynn Evans, BASC’s head of game and deer management, said: “We would urge those involved in gamebird management to read and follow this important advice.

“BASC is pleased to have worked with government and partner organisations to produce this updated version of the advice document.”
