The independent Wooler report on the RSPCA’s prosecutions policy has been welcomed by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC).

The report, commissioned by the charity, found that the RSPCA’s prosecution policy was unstructured and lacks transparency and accountability.

The report said this damages public confidence in the organisation.

BASC recognises the RSPCA’s willingness to examine its policies and stated that it is right that a charity should focus on its principal charitable functions.
