BASC is disappointed to announce that the 2018 Wildfowling Conference, due to be held this Saturday at the Ramada Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

In response to the Met Office issuing a further ‘red’ weather warning, the association was keen to avoid delegates and speakers travelling to the Midlands from throughout the UK and further afield.

A decision will be taken in the near future on whether it will be possible to rearrange the annual conference later in the year.

Paul Williamson, BASC’s rural land development manager, said: “It is with great regret that we have been forced to cancel the conference, but it was not reasonable to expect people to travel when the weather conditions across parts of the UK are expected to be so severe.

“We will meet at the earliest opportunity to discuss whether it is possible to set an alternative date for the conference, which is one of the key events of our wildfowling calendar. We will provide an update as soon as possible.”
