The Scottish Government announced its plans to change existing legislation to permit the docking of the tails of spaniel and hunt point retriever (HPR) puppies where a vet believes they are likely to be used as a working dog and risk serious tail injury in later life.
One of Britain’s biggest gundog events reached its climax at Packington when the 20 finalists competed to become the BASC/Chudleys gundog scurry league winner.
Gundogs will compete in the BASC Chudleys Scurry League at this year’s CLA Game Fair. Individual scurries including the Long Retrieve, Obstacle and Around the Clock will be hosted in the Gundog Scurry area at the fair, which will be held at Harewood House, Leeds, Yorkshire, from 31st July – 2nd August.
500 tickets to the BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair are available free of charge for serving members of the British armed forces. The event will be held at Catton Park, Derbyshire on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 April.
