BASC’s centenary beer – Double Barrelled – has been chosen by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) to be showcased at Britain’s biggest beer festival next month.

Following the publication of a report from the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs committee on the draft Marine Bill, BASC is concerned that no account has been taken of the impact on wildfowling or the damage to public safety on ‘spreading room’ over salt marshes and mud flats.

BASC is to make a direct appeal to its members to help fund the cost of building its new Communications Centre.

Britain’s foremost sporting artist Roger McPhail has painted a wildfowling scene that sums up the spirit of the WAGBI/BASC centenary as the cover for the special centenary issue of Shooting & Conservation.

Plans by BASC to hold a series of gas safety awareness days have been brought forward following a number of incidents recently involving gamekeepers and the use of LPG gas cylinders.

A BASC gamekeeper member, who is based within the current avian flu surveillance zone, has successfully applied for a specific movement licence from his Local Disease Control Centre (LDCC) which allows him to take delivery of day old chicks.

TV chef Mike Robinson has been elected to BASC council at the Association’s AGM on Saturday 14 June.
