Cheshire shooters help water vole numbers
Mink trapping has helped to boost the number of water voles, Britain?s fastest declining mammal, on a Cheshire river. The number of water voles on a 20 kilometre stretch of the River Gowy has increased over the past 18 months, thanks to work carried out as part of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation?s (BASC) Green Shoots programme.

Strong growth in shotgun and firearms ownership
There has been a surge in new shotgun and firearm certificates issued by the police, according to an analysis of latest figures from the Home Office by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC). The figures, which relate to 2008/2009, show the highest year-on-year rises in certificates on issue for both shotguns and firearms since records began in 1968.

BASC activities day in North Wales offers an Easter holiday treat
The UK?s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) is offering a kids? countryside activities day near Wrexham which will include clay target shooting instruction with trained coaches, the chance to see and fly falcons and hawks, sessions of air-rifle target shooting instruction and the chance to learn about game and gamekeeping.

New attractions at BASC Gamekeepers? Fair
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) will host two new attractions at its Gamekeepers? Fair 2010. Visitors to the event at Catton Park in South Derbyshire on 17th and 18th April will be able to visit Stalking 2010 ? a dedicated deer stalking and management village. There will also be a new food hall which will showcase local and national producers and suppliers of high quality food and drink.
