A temporary suspension of waterfowl shooting in Scotland will end at a minute before midnight on Thursday 6th January, allowing shooting to resume from the morning of Friday 7th January.
A statutory suspension of waterfowl shooting in Northern Ireland is to be lifted after the recent thaw. Restrictions are to remain in force in Scotland but the possibility of a statutory suspension of the shooting of ducks, geese and waders in England and Wales has been avoided.

The shooting of ducks, geese and waders is to be suspended in Scotland for the second time this year because of severe weather. From one minute past midnight on the morning of Friday 10th December it will become illegal to shoot ducks including reared mallard, geese, woodcock, snipe and golden plover.
