BASC South East held a Young Shots “Deer Management Day” on October 30th 2012. The venue for this event was the New Forest by kind invitation of the Forestry Commission, and their Keepers/Rangers.
The final BASC range day for 2012 took place on Saturday 13 October. The series of range days run by the south east region have proven very popular in 2012, and the final day of the year was no exception with a full complement of shooters booked.

Following liaison with officers in the Tandridge District on a number of rural crime initiatives over the past year BASC south east were invited to deliver a presentation on sporting shooting and poaching to neighbourhood police teams from the district.
The problem of illegal deer hunting using bull-cross lurchers is a problem in many parts of the country – not only is the damage to farmland costly, but the cruelty and brutality to both deer and dogs is disgusting and has no pleace in our countryside. Northamptonshire Police are to be congratulated on a recent operation that resulted in the conveiction of three menu using lurchers to bring down deer.
A new ladies? shooting group has been launched in Cornwall. Twelve lady guns recently met for their first clay shooting lesson at The Colquite Estate, Bodmin.
