The UK?s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), will host an exciting ?hands-on? activity day in Staffordshire to provide young people with an insight into country sports. The activity day will be held on 21st August at a private country estate in Burton-on-Trent on the Derbyshire border.
The BASC ran two very successful scurries at The CLA Game Fair – the Bulldog and Snooker.

The 22nd BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair, 17th & 18th April 2010
Food producers from across the Midlands showed off their wares at the 22nd Gamekeepers’ Fair. This year’s fair featured for the first time a food hall showcasing local and national producers and suppliers of high quality food and drink. The food hall was packed out for the duration of the two day event attended by 12,000 visitors.
The Cross Shooting Ground in Kinver, South Staffordshire was host to our Ladies Training Day on 8th May where 12 ladies of mixed abilities enjoyed an action packed day working in small groups.
A popular attraction at the show was the pigeon plucking contest – a new twist on an old favourite.
The first deer stalking village held at the Gamekeepers’ Fair at Catton Park in April was such a success it will remain a fixture of the event – and is certain to expand in future years.
Youngsters, who are interested in shooting live quarry, will be able to find out more about behaviour and safety in the field at a BASC event next month.
Youngsters in Northamptonshire will be able to learn about airguns at a special event being held in October.
