Young Shots

This is ten-years-old Ollie Hopkins, pictured here with the eight pheasants he shot on his very first driven day shooting. He made his dad the proudest man out there. Maybe he should take dad’s place more often!  

Robert Mackay with his first pheasant, shot with a 1939 English .410 boxlock ejector, 11 grams of no.7 shot. Robert had six shots on a very windy day, apparently performing much better when his father didn’t try to help!  

After a season’s beating on the Whittington Lodge Farm shoot, as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, Alyssia, 13, cleanly shot her first pheasant on beaters’ day with her dad’s 28 bore.
