BASC is advising members that the Coronavirus outbreak may have an adverse effect on the firearms licensing process.

BASC firearms officer Simon Vann said the association’s firearms team was aware some forces were considering reducing home visits in relation to firearms licensing matters as part of contingency planning for the pandemic.

He said: “There might be a knock-on effect and each force will have its own contingency plan. At present we anticipate each constabulary’s approach to vary slightly.  Please monitor the BASC website for updates and the websites and social media feeds of your police force area for updates.”
