Demand for the DSC1 courses is usually very great and places are allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis. If you wish to reserve a place, please complete the enclosed application form and return it to me with the full course fee.  I regret I cannot take bookings over the phone.

NB. ORGANISE YOUR OWN DSC1 ASSESSMENT

It is possible to organise your own DSC1 assessment days using qualified assessors. No training is given on these days, so they are only appropriate for knowledgeable stalkers. Think of it like turning up for your driving test. The process will vary, but works something like this.

  • You will get together a group of knowledgeable stalkers – six would be a reasonable minimum number.
  • That group should then contact a qualified assessor. Details from BASC Training Department
  • The organiser of the group will return the assessment day REQUEST FORM to the BASC assessment centre. By this time an assessor will have agreed to work on the day and their details should be recorded on the form.
  • The assessment centre will then accept or decline organiser’s request by post. (The day may need to be rearranged if test materials are already committed to other assessment days running around the same time.)

Your assessor will now handle many of the arrangements for you, but typically you will have to arrange the venue, range etc. This would be agreed between you and the assessor. For full information contact BASC Shooting Standards Department on 01244 573018.
