BASC South West was delighted to support the recent Taunton Vale Terrier and Lurcher show held at Taunton Racecourse. The event proved very popular with competitors travelling from as far away as Wales.
In addition to the show element Terrier men were offered the chance to try their dogs on tube racing. This discipline is actually quite exciting, terriers race against the clock to complete a pre-laid course made of 12 inch tubing.
Many of the terriers caused hilarity by completing their run only to turn in the home straights, retracing their steps only to come out at the entrance. Not to be out done Jamie Stewart Junior had also organised lurcher racing. I have to say that with many tried and tested competitors this had some what of a professional feel about it. All in all the day went splendidly.
