LORDSTHE House of Lords regained the upper hand with narrow victory in this year’s annual Lords v Commons clay shoot.

Bill Wiggin MP led the Commons to success last year and was high gun this time around, but his efforts could not stop Lord Dear’s team taking overall honours by just one clay.

The event at the West London Shooting School was organised by BASC and sponsored by William Evans, the gun and rifle makers.

BASC’s Christopher Graffius said: “As always, both teams were highly competitive. After an unprecedented few weeks in politics, I hope the parliamentarians were able to enjoy a morning’s shooting.”

BASC chairman Peter Glenser said: “Lord Dear promised last year that his team would be back better and stronger, and he was good to his word! It was a beautiful day for showing shooting at its best, a sport which contributes greatly to conservation and the economy.”
