There was only a ½ point in it but the House of Lords came out on top again at this year’s Lords vs. Commons clay shoot.
The Lord’s average score was 29.67 against the Commons with 29.25. The top score for the Lords was achieved by Lord Crathorne, while the best shot on the Commons team was Gerald Howarth (Conservative MP for Aldershot).
BASC chief executive, John Swift, said: “Shooting makes a huge contribution to the UK economy every year – £1.6 billion – so it is very important for us to bring MPs and peers from all political parties together to discuss issues affecting shooting. This event provides an excellent forum for those discussions. I’d like to thank all those who took part and for their continued support for our sport.”
The event was held at the West London Shooting School on 12 June and was sponsored by BASC, RK Harrison Insurance Brokers, Pol Roger (wine merchant) and William Evans of London (gunsmiths).
