Almost 100 shooters from Northern Ireland came along to BASC workshops about lead shot alternatives this month.

The workshops were organised ahead of new restrictions on lead shot coming into force in the Province on 1 September.

Director of BASC Northern Ireland, Roger Pollen, said: “Our members were keen to find out more about lead alternatives and to hear experiences from the rest of the UK. Members were especially interested to hear BASC’s director of research, Dr John Harradine, talk about how Northern Ireland’s new restrictions fit in with what is happening in the rest of the world.”

There was no charge for the events, which were sponsored by Gamebore Cartridges and Field of Dreams, but members from County Down and County Fermanagh generously donated over £200 towards BASC Northern Ireland’s Young Shots programme.
