The clay ground photo shoot

Lincolnshire Wolds
10. For this subtle picture all I wanted to do was catch the rolling hills of the (traditionally flat) Lincolnshire Wolds. This was the location of the Lincolnshire sim game day.
The start of the day
1. This was the start of the clay ground shoot day and you can see shooters have something to carry their used cartridges in. You can also see the pegs. I particularly like the detail in the grass.
Disorganised cartridges
2. I decided to quickly snap this picture because of how disorganised the cartridges looked. This bucket of fibre-wad cartridges was entered right in the sun and I thought it was a good photo opportunity. It also shows a lot of promise for the day to come.
Choice load for sim game
8. This picture gives an insight into the choice load for sim game. The focus and saturation of the colours of Gamebore’s Super Game High Bird is spot on.
Guns looking up
3. This picture is clearly showing Guns at the clay ground shoot looking up at a passing clay. Even though you can’t see the clay itself you can imagine how high it is by their reaction.
Focus on the metalwork
5. This shot is probably my favourite of that day because of the perfect focus on the metalwork of this well-used gun. The blurred background adds focus to the pheasant engraving on the action. The freshly loaded gun will satisfy any keen shooter.

7. I love this picture so much. It captures the moment really well and shows the incredible detail of this gun perfectly.
Simply too good to miss
9. This picture opportunity was simply too good to miss. I knew the effect of being focused on both the grass and the gun would bring out the colours and vibrancy of the wood on the stock in the sun. It ended up looking great.
Where the Guns stayed after the day
4. This picture is of where the Guns stayed after the clay ground shoot day. A truly lovely place with amazing scenery – look at the contrast between the white-washed building and red doors and windows.
I just love being outside
6. Here’s me - I just love being outside!
A sky of birds
11. This picture (a sky of birds) was a quick opportunity to get a great snapshot. These are racing pigeons taking their exercise. A high shutter speed and a sunny day meant I got a variety of individual flying positions of these birds.

I am 12 years old and like to film and photograph clay pigeon shooting, mostly sporting, and any wildlife I see. I also like filming and take part in competitions which are always pretty intense! I love being outdoors and photography makes time stand still. I look forward to this opportunity to share my views and experiences with other people.
