I’ve been shooting for 30 years, both game and clays. As an experienced loader I also spend a lot of time in the field during the game season, travelling to some of the best shoots in the country. I must say I really love what I do and teaching people to be a better shot.

Alex grew up in a semi-rural area where, from a young age, he took an interest in the countryside before becoming involved in field sports.

Alex completed a degree in Countryside, Conservation and Recreation Management as he was keen to work in the shooting and countryside industry. During his time at college he tailored his studies around issues related to gamekeeping and shooting.

Alex has a keen interest in all types of shooting sports being especially rough shooting and pest control. He is also keen on gundog training and generally being outdoors and enjoying the countryside with his family.

Over the last 20 years I have been stalking and shooting around the world. Being a client for several years myself, I have transformed my own experience into my profession. As a shotgun coach I am very easy-going and will make mostly any kind of personality comfortable. Shooting is certainly about techniques and approach – but without confidence – it will never be more than average. Don’t worry – together we will take your shooting into a new level. Whilst not coaching, I am the country representative for Blaser Safaris GmbH hunting tours and the owner of Finnemann Sporting, organising bespoke shooting events for dedicated guns in Denmark, England, Scotland and Spain. We work solely with estates where I myself have shot.

My shooting experience commenced many years ago when, as a boy, I learnt to shoot air rifle. When I commenced work, my interest in shooting was encouraged because my employers still retained the old Home Guard rifle and pistol range that was on their premises and kept its status as an ‘approved range’. This range was open daily so there was no shortage of practise opportunity. I shot small bore and full bore rifle and pistol competitively.
Changing jobs, I lost the use of the rifle and pistol range so moved my interest to shotgun shooting. I am primarily a game shooter, mainly walked up rough shooting, but given the chance I will gladly spend time in a hide on the foreshore.
