twitter logoBASC has discovered that the original registered owner of the Oxford Lead Symposium website is the Wildfowl & Wetland Trust.

The site is the public face of the symposium and crucial information about the website’s current owner and its administration, registration and billing is now masked from public view by a company based in Arizona.

However, a search of cached data has revealed that the site was linked by its address and billing details to the WWT in Slimbridge, Gloucestershire.

Earlier this week, BASC raised concerns that the true identity of those financing the Oxford Lead Symposium’s website was being deliberately obscured.

This wall of secrecy begs questions about Oxford Lead Symposium’s claims to be ‘independent’.

BASC chief executive Richard Ali said: “The secrecy surrounding the website does little to allay our fears that all is not as it seems with the symposium.”
