Young people interested in the countryside, conservation and shooting attended a BASC Young Shots activity day at Higher Kempley Farm in Willaston near Whitchurch which has its own game farm.

Here, the pheasants and partridges are grass reared in the traditional manner and Paul Griffiths, who runs the farm, arranged with his keeper for a visit around the game farm to show how the birds are kept and reared. Other activities included hawking and ferrets, gundogs, airguns and clay shooting.
