William, 11, pictured with his first pheasant shot on his first driven day at the Nettlebed Estate, Oxfordshire in December. Using a 20g side-by-side, he went on to shoot five birds off the last drive for 12 cartridges.

Chasing rabbits

Pictured here is William with rabbits caught using a long net and ferrets along a hedgerow. William and his father were taken out by Devon Wildfowling and Conservation Association stalwart, Dave Baker, and caught half a dozen rabbits in an exciting couple of hours.

Successful duck flight

Ten-year-old Will Ivens, after a successful duck flight, holding his first gadwall. With him is the family’s eight-month-old GWP, Lochy, who retrieved Will’s prize. Young safe shot

Chris Dellow, a 13-year-old BASC member, shot his first pheasant, with a 20-bore Beretta, at a shoot in Northumberland. He was also awarded his BASC safe shot certificate in December last year. Well done.
