BASC Wales officer Meurig Rees told the BBC of “inconsistencies” of the medical side of firearms licensing.

He was interviewed as part of a piece about the Home Office consultation on firearms licensing statutory guidance, including the “fundamentally flawed” medical involvement.

The piece also featured Dyfed-Powys Police – the force area with the highest number of shotgun certificates.

BASC responded strongly, and with numbers, to the consultation that closed last week, you can read our response in full here.

Meurig Rees can be seen on BBC Wales Today here, about 14 minutes in.
