Visitors to a Bury St Edmunds gun shop will have a chance to use BASC’s ST-2 Shooting Simulator – the most realistic on the market.
The simulator will be at Forelock and Load, IP29 5AX, from the 1st – 6th September.
Beginners can use the simulator to try shotgun shooting and more experienced people can use it to improve their shooting. BASC-accredited shotgun coaches will be on hand to offer expert advice and tuition.
BASC strongly opposes the Hunting Act, and believes land owners and managers should be able to choose the most effective methods of pest and predator control for their circumstances. A South Cumbrian wildfowling club has won the Green Thinking Award in this year’s Community Sport and Recreation Awards, organised by the Sport and Recreation Alliance (SRA).

BASC will have a major presence at this year’s CLA Game Fair, which will be held at Harewood House, Leeds, from 31st July– 2nd August.
The association will have a stand on Gun Makers’ Row, where expert staff will be on hand for the duration of the event. Sections of the stand will focus on firearms, conservation, gamekeeping, research, training and standards and wildfowling. There will also be a deer management section, which will provide a trophy measuring service.
This week BASC members are being invited to an open day in Wales about how mink and grey squirrel control can benefit conservation.
BASC has welcomed the production of a notebook to help the public record suspected poaching or coursing incidents.
The notebook has been released by the PAW Scotland Poaching and Coursing Priority Group and allows people to record as much accurate and detailed information as possible to pass on to the police. It is designed to fit in a glovebox or pocket and guides the user on the type of information which should be recorded.
A series of shooting and game-related demonstrations will take place on the BASC stand at the Scottish Game Fair this weekend.
There will be food demonstrations with Scotland’s Natural Larder (SNL) throughout the event, showcasing game and featuring preparation, cooking and tastings.
